Time To Catch Up

It has been a full weekend as we completed some home improvements and then went running with Kris. We have been working on a remodel which began about two weeks ago with the painting of the family room and kitchen. We wanted to add a little interest to the family room so we decided to put a panel wall on the far wall of the room. After getting the boards primed and painted this week we began installation on Saturday night. Most of it was put up before we went to bed and the rest was completed this morning. We still need to fill the nail holes, put the baseboards back and hang some pictures but these are little things that will not take that long to complete.

We needed to get this work completed early as we had arranged to meet Kris at the Hershey Auto Museum before noon. If you have been keeping up with us you know she started her new job last week. The project she is working on required some photos of the interiors of cars from the 50's and also some photos of old emergency vehicles. So this seemed the best place to take the photos she needed. If you are interested who she works for you can check their website at http://www.aeseducation.com/

After we finished there we decided to go over to Mt Gretna to their annual Arts and Craft fair. Not only was this a great show but it is in a beautiful setting. We even managed to get a little Christmas shopping completed. By the time we were finished at the show the day was too so it was back home and back to work tomorrow.

Meanwhile Keith was doing a little shopping of his own. Check out our PEZ Blog to see what he was up to.

A Different Collection

Keith added to a different collection today when he qualified for the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He made 48 out of 50 shots on target.

Qualification as expert with the rifle (M-16) requires 43 hits out of 50 rounds on various sized silhouettes, simulating targets at different ranges. The target itself is 25 meters away, with silhouettes simulating targets at 50 meters, 100 meters, 150 meters, 200 meters, 250 meters and 300 meters. 10 shots are fired each from the standing-barricaded, kneeling-barricaded, prone-unsupported position, prone-supported position with 10 shots being fired while wearing a gas mask and prone-supported position with 10 shots being fired with the weak hand.

As I am sure you have read before we are very proud of him and what he is doing. ( It's a parent's right to say this as much as we want to.)

Family Update

Kris and Charlie are finally getting caught up from the wedding. Kris has found place for most of the gifts they received and the rest will be going into the new hutch that her grandfather built for them. This matches a Pie Safe that he made for Kris many years ago that she now uses in the dining room as well. It's nice to have a Grandpa with this type of talent!

Other news from Kris is that see will be starting a new job next Monday. She will be doing graphic arts and photography for AES. They make educational materials including DVD that are used along with textbooks. This is the type of work she has always wanted to do and she should really enjoy it.

Keith continue to expand his Pez collection looking for deals he can find on EBay along with other web sites. In fact it sometimes becomes a family affair as we sit at our PC and watch an item as it goes off sale to see if he won it. One of his most recent purchase was an Indian Chief from 1976. All I will say is that it turned out to be a rare "Made In Hong Kong" Pez that the seller did not know he had. He ended up getting it for about 15% of the actual value. You can see it pictured on our Collecting Pez blog.
